Revelation: Locked, with a Key
From the very opening of the book, the author of the Revelation tells the Reader that the disclosed sights and sayings of the book are to “shortly come to pass”. Further, this is quickly followed by the first of seven beatitudes found in the book of Revelation, where the short-term temporal reference serves as the defining point for the beatitude: “…for the time is at hand”.
